Enhanced Modsuite and TOE
Recently noticed the Phoenix beta and decided to revisit one of my favorite games. I used to play with the Enhanced Modsuite but I just noticed that you lose the TOE function using Rising Dawn Random Scenario.
Has anyone got this mod to work with the TOE function?

I downloaded the Old Enhanced Modsuite, and did some changes, that would allow TO&E. Haven't tested it though, so maybe there will be some bumps along the way. Feel free to test

Have you used a file with the "old" TO&E templates? These are the new ones. That is you get to choose between colors and formation symbols... (four of them) Also TO&Es are sometimes scenario/mod specific, as in this case. The reason they are that in this case, is because I wanted to give the most enjoyable experience to a new player of the mod.

Not sure what you mean by old and new ones. If I start a brand new TOE template when running the EMS mod, the NATO icons seem to work. Using a TOE template designed from anewdawn, it does not.

Exactly.
The TO&E is dependent on the Natocounters directory, which is selected in the Setng menu. The graphics for these Natocounters are located in the EnhancedMod / EnhancedModBIG / EnhancedModSmall directories. The ANewDawn TO&E is more primitive than this one, and has different Natocounter directories. Thus you get the different results.

For those trying out the EMS Mod, attached is a starter TO&E template. Modify as you wish. Remove the .txt to use.

What and where does this file replace?

Ran into the following error messages on the first turn of my first test game:
Error in Check command in event #48 on line nr #52
Error in Check command in event #48 on line nr #58
Error in Check command in event #48 on line nr #61
That event has something to do with officers. I clicked past each message and the game turn continued. The error messages did not repeat on the following turn.
I remember from years ago when I tried to adapt my Delayed War Mod for EMS, it just would not work properly. The creator of EMS said it had something to do with some changes Vic had made to the game after EMS was released. On that note, it would be nice to have the Delayed War Mod work with EMS.

I took a look at that event, where the lines that caused errors are. It looks like it is indeed something to do with officers. I can try and fix it, but I really don't know the mod that well, so chances are low.

I tried to do something simple. Enabling an event that had been disabled, that also had to do with officers. No idea why it was disabled. Might be some speed bumps still, and bugs. However, the errors no longer occur. (I hope).

Verified: with version 1.01 no errors as noted previously with version 1.00.

@FirstPappy: it does not replace anything, it loads a TO&E file.

More problems. I have only hired one officer, not nine. These kinds of errors are bringing back to my memory the issues I had when trying to incorporate my delayed war mod. Due to the extensive work Lancer did creating his EMS mod, I do not believe it can be made to work with the current ATG engine without a complete rewrite. Could be wrong on that but at this point I am not going to spend any more time testing.

Well, it is an old mod. If there are enough people that want me to dive into it I could. There are solutions to the problem I outlined. I would just need to know which of the events (and there are many) that I had to look in.

This mod was created before models and the TO&E systems were added to ATG. After refreshing my memory, I now remember that these additions broke the mod, at least where officers were concerned. I have not tested it, but this rework by ernieschwitz may work if you do not select 'enhanced officers.' Also note that 'enhanced ai' only works if your map has more than 50 percent water. This was a great mod. At the time of release several years ago, I would have classified it as ATG 1.5.
Update: if you do not select 'enhanced officers' then 'realistic officers' is also off the table. Currently, you cannot use either because of incompatibilities with ATG as it exists today.
