Japan had some success and a failure. Yenan was taken by direct assault Sian was taken by airborne assault (The IJA para's are surrounded as they should be holding Sian may prove beyond them) Kweisui the defenders are surrounded and in a state of siege. Chungking resisted direct assault but was severely weakened.

We attacked Lisbon and Marseilles, but took neither.

The British invaded the continent at Brest, and did a paradrop on Lille. The Brest operation received the competent support of the Royal Navy. We shall have to prevent such attacks in the future. Having to pull back troops deployed elsewhere to deal with raids is not productive.

In the East we took Koenigsberg back, and made some attacks along the line, but the Red Army is very strong and we have to re-bolster the lines each time.

The Italian Navy has covered itself in glory. After dealing with the RN submarines in the Adriatic they sank the Red Banner Med Fleet of the Soviets in Athens. The Italians have lost some ships, but remain a powerful naval force.

In Spain Rundstedt is slowly cutting allied positions off from one another. Progress is not fast, but we do not expect quick progress in this struggle.

Sorry to not have done my turn. But me doing it would not change that the game is stalled: Bombur is out of town to the 24th, or at least that is what he told me. I guess I should have notified everyone in game 10 earlier...

Looking at Bombur's national flag I would say the fate of the Brazilian's in the world cup will be a major factor[:)in his gaming time over the next few weeks. As a Brit I would like to announce that I am now rooting for the following teams Holland Germany USA and God forgive me Italy. Sorry Bombur Brazil are not on the list unless they are playing Argentina [;)]

In the west we took Marseilles and Lisbon. We placed forces just outside Brest, but did not attack there.

In the east we pushed the Red Army back near Split, and made some attacks where we saw advantage. The Soviets are very strong.

In the Med we attacked Royal Navy surface and submarine forces and defeated them. Most of the RN is in the Western Med.

Japan continues steady progress delayed by the digging in of millions of conscript Chinese. The Japanese breakout from the captured city of Yenan continues with the Heavy Tanks leading the advance towards Sian and Chengtu. Chungking still provides problems for the Japanese 1st and 4th Armies as the Bridges to the approach to the city, have been blown not by the Chinese but by intense Japanese artillery fire. Kweisui continues to hold out raids have been launched by Japanese heavy Bombers to subdue the defenders.

The west : We captured Cadiz, and invested Gibraltar. We are positioned to assault Barcelona next month and hope to soon welcome Spain into the Union. Portugal is already fighting by our side. The Americans have taken Denmark, and while they are not at war we think they are paired with the British. We are certainly not pleased with the presence of Americans on the Continent. We should have incorporated Denmark into the Union earlier, but were busy. The Union fleet had some success and have positioned submarines to blockade Brest. The RAF will surely cause this blockade to be painful.

The east : We attacked at various places on the long front, giving and taking losses. The Soviets gave us a breather in the south and we hope this continues for a bit longer. The Italians fought Red Navy subs in the Mediterranean. The Italians have done well there, but there are still Royal Navy, remnants of the French fleets, and Soviet ships to contend with.

In the west we took Barcelona, Gibraltar, and Valencia, but are yet to take Madrid. At Brest we took heavy losses as we maintained the blockade, and the British prevented us from taking Brest. The British are waging their own sort of war, and it is aggravating us. The RAF is strong.

In the east the Luftwaffe attacked the Red Army and we strengthened our positions.

In the Mediterranean the Italian Navy bombarded Malta.

Japan Supreme Command reports that the breakout from Yenan has laid the way for the capture of Chengtu and Sian also Chungking was taken attacked from the East and the West, Chungking has proved a hard nut to crack. This leaves 5 major cities for Japanese forces to capture. Kweisui is surrounded as is Kaifeng in a Large pocket in a huge part of central China, Japanese forces are within shelling range of Kunhong. Only Lanchow and Uruhgi are not contacted by Japanese forces this is to be shortly corrected.

While there are still a few allied soldiers left on the coast of Spain we nonetheless joyously welcome Spain into the Union. Madrid and Tangiers fell and Union troops are crossing the straits to do battle with the British and Soviets there. British subs observing the straits were attacked inside the Med by U-Boats. The Italians did anti-submarine work and bombarded Malta again.

In the east we pushed the Red Army out of Klaipeda but we did not extend our line to occupy it.

The British are defending Brest well, and we could not attack. The RAF is taking losses in their attacks, but they damage us so much we cannot attack. We have placed forces along the coast to stop British raids, and hope to stabilize the situation. With the straits of Gibraltar closed to allied traffic it will be a long way around for British troops.

Our troops took Casablanca as we moved into Africa. German U-Boats had success against allied submarines and have moved deeper into the Med. The Italians destroyed a Royal Navy task force, but the bulk of the RN is in Tripoli and we expect them to sortie out to do battle.

In the east we were attacked in the south and hardly survived, but we have rebuilt the position assaulted. We attacked in the north, a very, very costly attack in the forests south of Warsaw. The war in the East is on a very large scale.

Now we must discuss the west. We have pulled away from Brest as the losses from the RAF were just too great. We hated to do this, but perhaps we can regroup and try again later.

No major progress on the Chinese Front, Valiant efforts by the out gunned Chinese. But the war is winding down.

I have just upgraded to recon 4 I note that one recon 3 is yielding 40 recon points per aircraft, considerably better than recon 4 I had always thought that recon 3 was a huge improvement on recon 2. I guess it is just a problem with a decimal point.

I hope its recon 4 that has the decimal point issue, and not recon 3. I really like recon 3. :)

Imperial Japanese Command, reports that it launched a offensive against the Western Imperial forces in the East. Japan will not talk of liberation, the east is simply gaining a new master a Eastern master. Mandalay and Hanoi are now under Japanese control as the war in China winds down. A successful attack was launched in the direction of Vladivostok.
