Captain thanks for introducing out a monster scenario, will try to get a grip on the size of it. Looking forward to trying out the new idea of refits and such.

Have fun with your battles in the Pacific.

bah, was looking forward to a conclusion.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

I think it will be a while before I try AE as a PBEM. Playing the AI is pretty good and there is a lot to learn.

Updated Scenario

Following this game and the bwheatley/arabullian one I have made an updated scenario. It is just a patch and does not extend the duration.

Changes:-

1. Refit Centres removed as they cannot be made to work.
2. Initial Soviet armour units experience increased from 20 to 40.
3. Soviet infantry reinforcements have 50% more Rifle units (12 -> 18).
4. Soviet armour reinforcements have 200% more T-34 units (1 -> 3).
5. Infantry and Wagon (horse) movement types have been slowed down by 30% on road/rail and plains.

I felt that the Soviets were a bit too weak, and also that the German infantry and artillery had little trouble keeping up with the panzer divisions.

As always, it's very experimental.

N.B. The strange URL is just because it's a direct link to one of my web servers. There is (sadly) no "Captain Cruft" website as such ...

Can someone re-upload this version? This link seems dead now.

There is no such thing as a historically accurate strategy game. Every game stops being historically accurate from the very first move player do. First unit that moves ahistorically, first battle with non-historical results, mean we ride in unknown.

Hi Hanti,

I'm not sure what happened to version 0.97 but here is a link to 0.96

Hi Captain!

That is rather strange saying by creator of the mod that he is not sure what happened to his mod ;)
Anyway what about version 0.98 of the existing scen (the first objective) that was announced somewhere in 2009 (War in the East\Ostfront II thread)?

I just ask because I discovered that in ATG 2.15i your scenario can be launched with working AI.

I started campaign in 0.96 against German AI and it plays quite normally like any other AI game. Of course AI can do a lot of stupid things, but at least it is now possible to try it. AI attacks, encircles and kills my units, moves forward to Moscow, so far, so well. Soviet AI works too.

Now while it can be played against AI, it is possible to actually use it. It takes a lot of time and involvement to make a turn, but AI has enough patience for everyone ;) I consider your scenario as one of the very best made for all versions of AT. It is complicated, but playing on Soviet side it gives player a real feeling of all their mess and disorder ;)

I lost version 0.97. It is a long time since I looked at this and I won't be doing anything else with it. WitE does everything I wanted to do and better.
