province decisions?

Alea Jacta Est is a series of Ancient Strategy Games using the renowned and proven AGE engine. The first in the series is Alea Jacta Est, which features the Roman Civil Wars. Other games in the series are Birth of Rome and Parthian Wars. The latest entry, Hannibal: Terror of Rome, highlights the Second Punic War.

province decisions?

Does anyone ever really use any of the province decisions like "triumph", "plunder", "merchants", "roads", etc? I have not really bothered. I can't see why increasing the loyalty of a region 2% matters. Seems like a waste of EP. I want to think that try are an integral part of the game but they all seem pretty useless...except roads.

Roads and Water take along time..but yes I do do quite a few to spend those EP points..especially to get the loyalty going and most important keep the NM up as that effects how good your legions are..you'll have loads of surplus EP anyway if you don't use it up. I thought the same until I read an AAR and they are more important then you think.

Roads is useless except in very very long scenarios...

Trade posts and merchants are important..as is pacify and subversion etc.

Yeah, but why not use the EP's on SPQR options (f4) like "bread distribution " and "games"?? Those give 5-10 nm increases as well. Is it worth a 2% loyalty increase in one region over one of those?

Ok, answered my own question. Most of those F4 decisions can only be used if your national morale is below 75-85. If its higher, I guess you have to use the decisions.

yeah always check the requirements...I will say I felt the same..and would like to see them have alittle more impact..but then again maybe they do I just haven't played enough.

Another use...town control. You have to garrison towns if the loyalty is below 50%. Some decisons can raise the loyalty 10% and only cost a few EP. Can't make them.too powerful because I doubt the AI can use them.

I've seen the AI use somethings like games but not the province decisions..
