The new update for Armored Brigade is live
The new update for Armored Brigade is live
Armored Brigade developers have worked hard to bring many improvements to both the base game and its Italy - Yugoslavia DLC.
One of the new features that has been implemented is the Scenario or Mission Editor, an in-game editor where almost everything in the saved missions can be modified easily without exiting the game. The editor is an inherent part of the standard game UI. The user can load the mission in several different modes and then adjust parameters, remove and add formations, edit briefings, objectives and deployment zones and so on.
You can download the patch from the My Page section.
Check the changelog here:
Fix: When loading scenarios, check the database ID before other checks, to make sure that the relevant data exists in the database.
Fix: In the Battle Generator, the number of objectives was not reset after changing the player start edge, allowing too many objectives to be added.
Fix: US TOW M113 Carrier (M150) now has a commander just like the Italian counterpart.
[database] Adjusted muzzle signatures on LMGs, MMGs and HMGs.
[database] British Chieftan and FV432 speed adjustments.
[engine] Implement the mission editor.
[engine] Add a small muzzle signature visibility bonus when a weapon is fired, making especially the low muzzle signature weapons easier to detect.
[engine] Increase the TI system efficiency and cost slightly.
[engine] The 'paved road' and 'secondary road' now use different width classes, improving the intersections.
[engine] Rotate anti-air units to face the center of enemy setup zone after they have stopped engaging an air target.
[engine] The AI opponent uses artillery smoke in meeting engagements.
[engine] Make sure that the manually edited campaign.xml 'startLocation' attribute stays within the allowed limits.
[scenarios] Add the 'Attack in Bullenhausen' scenario.
[scenarios] Update the 'Who Will Stop the Rain' scenario.
[ui] Show a message when a detected hostile aircraft is going down.
[ui] Prevent the system from listing scenarios, campaigns and maps with duplicate IDs.
[ui] Don't allow purchasing artillery mines if there are no guns purchased. If all guns are sold then set the number of mines to zero.
NOTE: Savegames from older builds are not compatible.

There are two links. For original AB, and for Yugo-Italy DLC. I have both original and YI DLC. In this case, do I need to download from both links? If not, which link should I need to download?

There's only one patch that's needed for all game versions.

I find it, it v1.031 is in the original AB link, not in DLC link. Thanks

Painting No-Go zones is huge for those interested in scenario design!
Also, the painting destruction areas can be useful too.

I knew this game as freeware, and I did not think the features we have already seen would ever be possible. It shows what a "brilliant" developer can do with the right backing.
Also, thanks to the supportive and intelligent community (I belong to the first group only [;)]) for analyzing the different systems and suggesting improvements.

Just update through the launcher instead. There's a "Check for Updates" option that'll auto-download any patches.

The update from the game menu doesn't work, and I cannot access the member's area for the update, it doesn't accept my password even after requesting a new one several times.
RE: The new update for Armored Brigade is live
The Members Area link needed replacing in the original post indeed, it has been done now.
But, the updater appears to be working, I have just tried reinstalling and updating my copy.

RE: The new update for Armored Brigade is live
Can this update be loaded over my original version that I got when the game was released in November? Or do I need to apply the each update prior to this one first.
Thanks guys.
PS: where do I find my current version number within the game? Will keep looking.
PSS: over at My page section there are two d/ls for: [PC] Update v1.031 are these functionally the same? I d/led the top one in the list. What is the next step? No instructions in the zip file. Thanks.

Resolved:
"Only the most recent patch is needed to update all game versions. The version number is shown in the top-left corner of the game splash screen.
I don't know about the download page because I've never tried it, but the updater is an .exe file that needs to be run, and it gives the further instructions." - Veitikka

RE: The new update for Armored Brigade is live
Reinstalled and edited the cfg file and now I see the AI (cntrl shift D) as little dots. But a question about placement. When I edit the deployment of the would be AI side (USSR) and lock them in place they move to new positions once I start the game in play mode. When I go back into the mission editor and view the USSR again the units are in the correct place. Is this as it should be? Lock does not seem to really lock. Thanks for all the help.

Unit locking works only for human player, although we are planning to implement it for AI as well.

Ok. Thanks. Will wait for that to materialize and come back and perhaps design a scenario or two for players. Should not to be hard to delete the code that scatters the AI or provide some kind of on-off switch. But what do I know. [&o]
