Division Activation

Post by genehaynes »

Section 6.5.1 of the manual states "Divisions that fail this (activation) check and miss their activation will always succeed on their check the following turn". However, in playing 1st Manassas as the Rebs I had a division activation failure (Johnston's Division) on two consecutive turns, preventing movement for those units in that division. Is this correct?

Good point, I had forgotten about that. In a pbem game a division engaged on an important flanking manoeuvre was hit three times by inactivation and I'm sure at least two of those were sequential. Admittedly my frustration was already high due to the lengthy time it took them to go back across the stone bridge.

I've had three in a row and twice is common. Good catch on the rule book but it doesn't work that way in the game as far as I can tell. Each turn uses the same factors so the odds for each brigade and command factors seem to be the same.

Please see my response in the other thread, re: Eric being on vacation and thus not (yet) responding here.

I'm not seeing anything wrong with the code on this, so I'm not sure what to say about that. Since nobody has really complained about this until now (and I'm not even sure you're complaining), maybe we can just change the rule.
