Battle Description, what side?

Post by demyansk »

I enjoy the way these games play, however, could you guys possibly change the opponents on the screen by describing which side is which instead of A and B? I don't play the game everyday and I forget what all the abbreviations mean.

Thanks

The default is:
SIDE A: United Kingdom, France, Generic Pro West and Israel.
Side B: Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Generic Pro East, Libya and Algeria.

However you can move countries from one side to the other using the "Sides" function under the scenario header in the editor. In that way you could have Jordan fighting
Syria or the United Kingdom fighting Israeli etc.

But I do agree demyansk that flags would make it easier for players unlike me who don't play the game everyday.[:)]

Typically in the scenarios Side A is pro NATO, while Side B is pro Warsaw Pact.

I'm not sure how a solution could be coded with how the system currently works. Something to add to the wish list, for sure.

Given the

[*]wide ranging subject matter across so many different conflicts
[*]the game system's flexibility (for example, nations switching sides from one scenario to another)
[*]all games sharing a common codebase
[*]some game components (for example, many dialogs) being static not dynamic in nature
[*]and other coding limitations

we are likely stuck with the Side A/B paradigm forever.
