Will the random battle generator make a return?

I'm a bit surprised it was stripped from the game. It was a big selling point for me and others I know. Sure the random battles were.. well.. random.. but they were a good starting point and often were interesting as is for a quick game.

Unfortunately, with the introduction of the scripted AI, the generator will no longer be included in the series.

You can, however, do what I do and keep an old version of the installation to have access to the generators.

Additionally, you do have access to large master maps and extensive Order of Battles in the editors to whip up something on your own.

You still have access to the editors, just not the generator.

That's disappointing to have to miss out on the new patches. I almost exclusively play small random battles these days. It's not quite the same playing a mission you designed vs playing something that can surprise you.

Alas, with the scripted AI, it isn't possible to automate the scripting.

And with the introduction of the scripted AI, the legacy AI leaves a lot to be desired on its own.

With the last update, there is now a Scripted AI and the Legacy AI.

Currently, only the Sirte scenarios are scripted.

Scripting means that I, as a designer, can have the AI play how I want to it, making it a far more interesting opponent.

CS Vietnam scenarios are using a scripted AI.

I am currently working on adding scripts to the Middle East scenario, it is a time consuming process.

Does this mean that the computer will be legally predictable to my tactics and moves? or the other way around?

The AI will be making decisions based missions and things I assign and things that you are doing on the map.

It's a whole new world for play against the AI.
