It is with great sadness that I am informing you that Robert "Berto" Osterlund has passed away this morning. As the programmer, Berto has been pivotal in the growth of the Campaign Series capabilities and making the Campaign Series games what they are today. Yes berto was a great member of the CS Development Team and the best game coder I have ever known. All of us there will miss him greatly!

RIP berto and thank you for making so many dreams come true with the Campaign Series games!

Hopefully he can rest in peace. I just turned 52 a week or 2 ago so its concerning knowing someone who I assumed was my age has passed.

I just found out about his passing today! Though we never directly interacted, I read many of his posts with interest as we shared many common interests: history, wargaming and software development. His contribution to the gaming community will be sorely missed.

My deepest condolences to his family, may he rest in peace.

My condolences. It's tough to lose good game designers and programmers for our niche wargame industry. :(
