Thanks for a great DAR again bootlegger! Wow, the Israeli tankers just held again, seems the scenario length at 14 was spot on for both sides: Syrians must push, Israeli must be determined not to back off. It must have been quite difficult this time, with Night penalties on targeting and just a couple of flares to use.

What were the IDF tank losses in this scenario? I recall reading they managed to salvage 75% of their tank losses due to their very efficient recovery procedures.

I tried to play this as historically as possible....That's why I really did not utilize the Mech Inf in Kuneitra. Cpt Menachem's (Spelled differently wherever you read) C.Co was sent there, as stated in Khahalani's book "Heights of Courage" to set up a blocking position on the eastern perimeter of the town in response to Col Ben-Gal's order and reports of enemy tanks approaching from the east.

The tough one to simulate is Ltc Nafshi's 74th Bn...His forces were to the east (forward) of Khahlani's 77th Bn. and are not represented in the scenario. The 74th Bn was deployed from OP 104 in the north, to OP 110 south of Kuneitra all along the "Purple Line" H Company of the 74th Bn was responsible for OP's 107 & 109 which are in the 77th's sector.

Again, Alan's conversions are not to be taken as historical, but rather a "Close Representation" that should give you the "feel" of the historical fight. I think he has succeeded.

The Israeli's tank losses were 21 tanks destroyed/disabled. The bulk of which occurred during turns 13-14.

The Israeli field repair workshops performed at a level that has not been matched. Granted, the Centurion's and M48's were nowhere near as complicated as the next generation of tanks (M60A1, M60A3, Merkava) but the relatively simplistic fire control, hydraulic, and automotive systems allowed them to turn tanks around overnight....
