Duel For The Golan 85 - New Scenarios

Post by BeirutDude »

Duel For the Golan 1985 - New Scenarios...

1. The Valley Of Tears 1985 scenario has been reworked and broken down into an IDF Human and Syrian Human/H2H scenarios. I think this works better. Date also changed to August 17, 1985 to correspond better to the parent scenario from HPS Modern Campaigns Danube Front '85 and MidEast '67.

2. An airmobile raid on the 36th Udga (Division) rear areas on August 17th. Please read the Designer's Notes and don't play as the IDF human the A/I doesn't do well with unloading the helios. So Just Syrian or H2H.

3. A night time highway clearing Scenario on the night of August 18th, where the IDF has to seize the bridges over the Jordan River from Syrian commando raid/interdiction. The POL/ammo must flow! Suggest you read designer's notes as well.

There is background documentation on why the war is going on. The .BMP files need to be moved to the "Graphics" folder to display during Scenario Selection.

As always please send feedback. I tested the zip and it worked fine. On the Nafakh raid scenario, I play tested twice with a major victory so it can be done (but took me about five attempts to do it! [X(] ), you just have to figure it out [:@]

Thanks to Jason Petho for his help!

Enjoy,
Al

I hereby grant the Nafakh scenario a score of 10 out of 10 [&o] Fast, brutal, and just ten turns for those of us liking it short and sweet.

Having read your scenario description carefully I managed to score a Major win at my first attempt. [;)]

Hopefully no spoilers here (if there is let me know and I will remove this pic), this is how it ended:

Cool! Looking at the Map Labels will help as well. Notice the VP hexes are just placeholder values (1 vp). You really win by killing key units.

Helos were the key, once the ground forces had dealt with Israeli AA assets. Took a while, but the last turns were such a blast (pun intended) [:)]

About how many VPs/Percent of attacking force did you loose?

I lost 34 SP / 216 VP by the time of my last save commencing turn 10, after which I at least lost a flight of helos and a few ground troop SPs here and there. But in that ball park.

And speaking about parks, this was no walk in the park, only once I was able to move my helos a bit forward and to stay at higher air levels, did I receive the battle field information required to fulfill the mission succesfully.

Very nice. [:)]
