Poor Graphics Performance Fixed

Post by rsmigel »

I’ve been struggling with 15 fps game play with my Intel 7 year old i3 processor and it’s integrated GPU with artifacts turned off. I could deal with the laggy mouse cursor but waiting 5 seconds for 1 second to tick down on the game clock was frustrating when little action was taking place.

With new graphics cards now selling way over MSRP I decided to upgrade my aged motherboard, processor and RAM.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
Motherboard: Asus PRIME A520M-K
Memory: Silicon Power XPOWER Turbine 16 GB
Total: $361.93

Now, with artifacts still turned off, I’ve maxed the frame rate at 99. With everything turned on I’m seeing 90-95 fps. It’s like playing an entirely new game.
