How to use maps of a mod in the vanilla CC The longest day

Post by welk »

I saw interessant maps in the mod named "Meuse" (it's a mod for CC The longest day)

http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/mo ... t&lid=4199

This mod does not interest me to play it, but I would be able to use the maps of this mod in the vanilla CC The longest day

My first attempt was that : I tried to take files of a map of the mod (givet map) and I renamed these files with the name of a vanilla map, in intention to see what could happen.

But this tip does not work in game, the game send error message (map can not be open)

Is there a method to do what I want to do ? (To use maps of the Meuse mod in the vanilla game)

It is curious that the rename tip does not work in vanilla game : the maps of the Meuse mod are made to be used in CC The longest day
My loved naval game : Victory at sea

I use only "CUSTOM BATTLE" like "turn per turn" wargame : it's work fine

First make a "mod-folder" in your TLD main game folder. This is a folder that will containe your modded files (Just like the folder that is created when installing ""Meuse-mod".
In addition to rename the map files you probably need to copy the "Elements.txt" from Meuse mod and use that with the Meuse maps.

The Givet.btd file will need to be edited in the BED9 tool to have the same exit VLs as the CCTLD map it is replacing to use it as part of an op or camp. You'd also want to ensure the total VL points in Givet.btd were the same as the stock CCTLD map for the campaign victory calculation.
