Close Combat: Korean War

Post by LtLaho »

I've been a big fan of the Close Combat series ever since the very first edition came out over 20 years ago, and this loyal fan would appreciate it if you gave a reasonable amount of consideration on producing a Close Combat game on the Korean War... or at least providing a DLC that tweaks an existing CC game to take place in Korea.

I've spent a lot of time studying this war and I feel that a campaign based on it would be a loads of fun:

1. Having no heavy weaponry (at first) to defend against the Russian-made tanks invading from the North

2. Being forced to make a last stand at the port of Busan at the southeastern tip of the country, holding out for as long as you can with piecemeal reinforcements from the United Nations

3. Choosing between a surprise landing to the enemy's rear with the U.S. Marines and cutting the enemy's supply lines or building up enough forces at Busan and having the 8th Army go head-to-head with a breakout, or do both!

4. After capturing Seoul, the player would have to choose between sending the Marines to block off the Northern forces' retreat from the south or sending them to make an amphibious landing in the North, allowing what remains of the North Korean Army to slip back into the North and prolonging the war.

5. Trying to fight your way to the Yalu River (border with China) before the Chinese can amass their 500,000 soldiers on the border and send them in to save the North Korean government.

That was a very seesaw-ish war and would be very fun to play via Close Combat Grand Campaign. Please seriously consider. Thank you!

I have modded GTC and PiTF for the Korean War. GTC is a modern Korean War (like 38 North Yankee) and PiTF I did for a 1950's version.
