Cannot determine application directory

I bought this game on Steam and whenever I click on Play CC - Gateway to Caen button it says what is in the title. What gives?

It sounds like there's a problem with your installation. When you start Gateway to Caen from Steam if first launches a small menu program. This is the window that shows you the 'Play CC - Gateway to Caen' button. When you click this button the menu app should then run the game proper. The default install has these two executables in the same directory, so 'finding' it shouldn't be an issue.

I would recommend re-installing from Steam. You can also check the install directory manually -- it should be in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Close Combat - Gateway to Caen\" by default (or wherever you installed steam. You should see both 'autorun.exe' and 'cce.exe' in that directory.
