Overview map contour mod ready

I have made an overview map mod to better appreciate height differences on PIFT maps.
This will enable you to make tactically better decisions.

Install instructions in zip.

This is something that Close Combat should have done from the very beginning.

Having said that, compare the watercourses with the contour lines. Hmm.

Thank you for DL'ing and using the mod CSO_Talorgan. - I made one for GtC as well.

Agreed, on the classic CC2/CC3 maps judging height differences was easier than in the CC4 onwards releases. CC4 and PITF being the worst IMO.

The contour mod brings out several coding problems. As you point out on this map its the watercourses not being properly elevation coded. Also hedges/bocage are not coded as elevated above the surrounding terrain, as they are on several other PITF maps, so there is inconsistency in the coding.

Another BIG problem is buildings that are not placed on level ground will have gaps in the roof coding causing incoming fire from certain angles to pass right through, not being affected by the cover the building should have provided. Thanks to Mick xe_5 that made me aware of this.

I can understand why - The links both on this site and at css.net was wrong so, probably none have been able to DL this mod...

Hi,

I am having a little trouble finding where my PITF main folder is.

I am using steam and cant find \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Close Combat - Panthers in the Fog

It doesn't appear to be on my hard drive and am not sure how to look on steam ?

Any Suggestions?

Mine is placed here: C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps

Yours might be different, but make sure your folder options on C:\ drive are not set to "hidden".

For using mods with the Steam version there is a guide somewhere on this forum or the Steam forums providing details.

You can use Windows File Explorer to search for "Panthers" (without the quotes). Helpful to create a desktop snarvei to the Close Combat Panthers in the Fog directory once you locate it [:)]

Thank you, I found it.

Now to load the Mod and get back on the battle field.
