Game Lovers AAR

Post by Sgt Grymm »

To start let me say I own and still play every other Close Combat. I had been waiting for years to see this expansion/version come out.

Good Things:
1) Graphics are awesome
2) The sound effects are the best yet.
3) It still is Close Combat, you didn't get away from the roots of the game.

Bad Things:
1) No campaign, I'm not much of a multiplayer person, but always loved replaying the campaigns. First as the good guys, then the bad, toying with the difficulty , ect. This game needs/needed a campaign.
2) The time limt on all the pre-made battles. Anyone that has been involved in urban warfare does not want 30 min to move a number of city blocks in a movement to contact mission.
3) Can't see Vicory Locations on the maps, I'm not sure if this is just a setting I'm missing, but I can't see the locations to shoot for.
4) Lack of morale meter. Unrealistically I want to duke it out till the end. I don't want my troops quitting, cause we were kicking butt and lost our armor support.
5) Lack of "difficulty" adjustment. In CC:Normandy it was about perfect in my opinion.

Overall I am having fun with the game, but I was very disappointed with no campaign, even a few maps tied together for a mini-campaign would have been cool.

Thank You

#2 Can be turned off in the map editor.
#3 Easily relabeled in Map editor
#4 Again simple check box on/off in map editor.

2) For the premade battles?
3) For the premade battles?
4) For the pre-made battles? Like CC:Normandy has? The one that lets you adjust when the enemy or you will surrender? Not a visual "meter". Sorry I didn't expalina myself well there.

#3 will now be selectable in the options dialog box...as soon as the patch is released
If it does not have a gun, it cannot be fun.

And it needs to be pointed out yet again that CCMT is a commecial release of the USMC's tactical simulation training tool Close Combat Marines. It was never touted as the next numbered CC game. It is what the USMC has.

And it has been stated before in several other posts that there is no code within the .exe to have operations or campaigns. It never existed Close Combat Marines and it does not exist in this commercial version of the military tactical training simulation. Nor was it ever said in any release that it had operations or campaigns.

It is what it is. Live it or live with it.
C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre.

#2 Yes. Options are "None" "10min" "20min" "30min" "40min". The battle cacn be modified to you're liking and saved.
#3 I personally edeit the VL's and place a simple number ont hem for visual reference.
#4 Never tried that installment. I don't have an answer.
