Ammo Resupply

Post by Jagger2002 »

Ok I am playing the Ambush scenario in which my Ukrainians attempt to escort a convoy through a town, across a river and then off the map. My main vehicle is the BTR-70. It has two machineguns, a 14.5mm and a 7.62mm. Checking ammo supplies, I have plenty of resupply 7.62mm carried by my BTR-70s but no 14.5mm. So I have been very frugal with the 14.5mm Mg and using the 7.62mm for plenty of recon by fire. And now, several vehicles are almost out of 7.62mm ammo. Fortunately I have plenty in stock on my BTR-70s. I know how to resupply infantry but I can't figure out how to resupply my vehicles. So what is the process for resupplying my vehicle MGs from their onboard stocks?

My experience is that the crew will automatically reload their weapons. It'll take a bit and you'll see the weapon icon go from green to grey for a it, but eventually it gets loaded.

I've seen that happen on Bradleys that had shot off all of their loaded 25mm, the crews automatically reloaded from the available store.

Thanks. And yes that is exactly what happened. One BTR ran out of 7.62mm ammo and ceased MG fire during the first part of the turn... but reloaded and began firing again before the end of the turn. So vehicles definitely reload automatically from any available on board ammo stock and reload fairly quickly.
