UNHIDE and Infantry vs. Armor

Anyone have an idea on what the "unhide" feature is used for? I mean why would you unhide for? Either your hidden or you do something to become unhidden. Is there a penalty or disadvantage? Also, I haven't had any success yet, but does infantry have a chance vs. armor in anyway other than maybe close combat. Or should they just run for it and avoid any armor confrontations. Any advise would be welcome. I just got Conflict of Heroes working on my desktop 2 days ago (need a new laptop now).

The only effective way i have found to tackle armour with infantry is to stay hidden and close assault and group close assault from the flanks.

I think there are movement penalties when hidden - you would unhide to get rid of these penalties

Yes, you have to unhide your unit if you want to move without hide penalty movement, if you move before unhide you lose a lot of APs and maybe it was critical quickly reach a given hex.

All I know is, I make more hits at 16% than at 71%! The computer rolls as bad as I do in real life! [:D]
