Map Questions

Post by Michael T »

Ok I am trying to import a map jpg file so I can trace over it.

How do I adjust the scale?

And how can I align it?

Ok I have a map and I have rotated it so that as the player looks at it on screen East is to the top of the screen and West at the bottom of the screen. Will this orientation cause any problems for me down the track?

It there a North arrow I can set?

Will any weather patterns be impacted by this?

You can set the weather pattern by drawing on the map, so that won't cause you trouble...

I can't really think of anything that would go wrong with an orientation different from east-west...

Is there an undo or how can I remove a road if I put in the wrong spot?

What is the difference between location types and landscape types in relation to cities?

In landscape types I can select either Urban or Light Urban.

Under location types I can select a vast array of Minor and Major Cities from level 1 to 4.

Which do you use?

What are differences and effects of each type?

You can only adjust the number hexes in the x and y. To stretch or shrink your source map. You have to allow for the elongated hexes if you want to get close to scale.

Locations can be assigned Victory points, landscapes cannot. There are other subtle differences, but right now thats the main one.

You can remove a road, rail, or river the same way you made it. Just do a right click - left click in the same way you placed it.

There is no one source AFAIK. I "think" the DC2 manual has accurate information, except for airfields being in towns, which they are not in the DCCP editor. Found a couple of posts by Vic in this forum with some info.

Supply range bonus:
I, 0AP bonus
II, 20AP bonus
III, 40AP bonus
IV, 60AP bonus

Not really a city bonus but here is the fortress bonus:
Fortress: auto-entrench: +80, max-entr: +140
Foritification: auto-entrench: +60, max entr: +100
Light Fortification: auto-entrench: +30, max entr: +60

Hope that helps.

Not saying that. That was just some information I remembered from the forums. Vic will have to add any other differences.
