First Congo war - Released
I have uploaded the First Congo war to the scenario bank. This version is human player only, but I'm in the process of playtesting a AI capable one which will be released later.

will be uploading a 3rd version soon, that will not have many reinforcements as the current version does, especially for Zaire. The current version, Zaire receives two corps with 3 Reserve divisions each, two mechanized bltns and 1 tank bltn. I'm reducing this where Zaire will only receive one corps and 1 tank bltn. The AFDL, will not have any reinforcements with the exception of Rwanda

I have 4 sounds that are needed for this scenario, but I do not know how to do them so they will be in the zip. Can I make a sound folder for these 4 sounds and place them in the graphics or scenario folder....Help please... thanks

RE: First Congo war - Released
I have an updated version ready to be uploaded to Vic's site, but when I test it by unzipping it on my wife's laptop I receive an error, so I have sent an email along with the file to Vic in hopes there is an answer.

RE: First Congo war - Released
I have upgraded the Non AI-version of the First Congo war and can now be downloaded on Vic's site.
Fixed
Upgraded the break point of each regime to reasonable levels
added air transport
corrected the Airborne forces which now have paratrooper units and now can use the airlift and or the para-drop capability.

Downloaded First Congo war-AI-Capable (Revision: #2 2016-10-04 04:07:09).
The question is: are those "request infantry" cards working in that version?
If yes, then how?
I used some PP /both sides/ using cards but that seems not bringing troops in turn it is used up. So?
PS: replacement troops seems arriving without cards or any intervention to get them.

First Congo war-AI-Capable (Revision: #2 2016-10-04 04:07:09).
As Zaire I can create another High Command (10PP).
There is "Military Leader" officer instead named one (besides a few named ones).
DRC gets Rwandan halftrack replacements but no units seems to use them.
Congolese would be happy to have more of them

Suggestion:
I removed all replacements from constant value tables to random quantity tables. And there is fun in scenario

Reinforcements are less influential in this scenario.
(20+ infantry every turn replacements?)

RE: First Congo war - Released
1. Random replacements work great. The only problem is there is a lot more troops than PP to use them or fuel to move mechanized units (tried it as DRC).
2. Victory conditions sound strange.
51VP for DRC = major vic DRC
32VP for DRC = minor vic DRC
33VP for DRC? = major vic Zaire
25VP for DRC? = minor vic Zaire
I would say those values should increase gradually:
51 = major vic DRC / major defeat Zaire
33 = minor vic DRC / minor defeat Zaire
32 = minor defeat DRC / minor vic Zaire
25 = major defeat DRC / major vic Zaire
3. There are too few trucks (as individual unit) and too many (as ratio numbers). I got tons of troops by replacements, but I can't equip my troops with mere trucks, as their replacements rates are slow. Yet, my army says that we have enormous trucks numbers. In my last battle we had 12.800 soldiers, 80x105mm guns, 30 armoured cars and 50 tanks plus 2200 trucks (more than two thousand). Every truck unit has ratio of 50 units (44 "individuals" x 50 = 2200), so this enormous number has its source, but it looks strange. I would lower ratio, so it will not list as tons of trucks. How many trucks you need to move 13k soldiers, let's say 20 soldiers in truck. It will be 650 trucks. So you can easily lower ratio of trucks to 25 (44 "individual" trucks x25 ratio = 1100 trucks). A more reliable number?
Another issue is too low replacement rate of trucks. I would lower armoured cars / halftracks and increase pure trucks numbers.

3. Dem Rep used fuel card for PP. It said that 32746 fuel points arrived (originating at Goma) but in fact my fuel pool increased only by some 10k. I used it again with similar results. Not giving me what it says it gives.
Strange.
4. Could you please add Rw- for all Rwandian units (Airborne, Engineer, 105mm). Would be easier to spot what troops arrived (in Replacement report / REPS)

RE: First Congo war - Released
Thanks again for the AI capable version. I have not had the time to play this to conclusion yet. Spreading myself between too many games. However, going to make a real effort to do so.
