Posting a scenario

Post by elmo3 »

My scenario is getting closer to being ready for people to play it and hopefully help improve it. How do we post a scenario for download? Thanks.

Thanks. Will wait to see what Vic says as I'm not sure how it integrates with Barbarossa.

Cool [:)]

I think a lot of fun WITE scenarios 'd be easy to translate, their OOBs are pretty good.

Elmo: does the current database have info on post 41 equipment?

I'm pretty confident in the OOB's. However some of the same comments about previous DC games will still apply here. Short of making each unit by hand, which I am not going to do, there have to be compromises on the TOE. The editor allows you to add any equipment you like but my focus is on Smolensk right now so I have not added any equipment other than what Vic provided in his tutorial database.

yup yup, BUT if I wanted to design a scenario set in 43 'd have the equipment in the database to do that?

OOBs I can find and TOEs can be simplified/abstracted.

If you mean, does the database have vehicles like the Ferdinand in it then no. You would have to add that and most other equipment not present in '41 if you made a '43 scenario. However, I did just look and it has a "Tiger" troop type there. Of course I won't be adding those into my scenario. [;)]

When I get more time I am definitely going to tinker with the editor.

Hi there,

The place to upload should be the Scenario Bank over at www.advancedtactics.org

When you upload there you can configure your entry to the scenario bank to classify the scenario as DC:Community Project.

Best wishes,
Vic

Will do, thanks. Will also start a thread here to let people know when it's uploaded so they can comment on whatever the like or dislike about it. It will be a few more days before I'm ready with a version to upload.

At this point I plan to put version 1 of my scenario up on Monday. Will wait until then so Vic is back at work in case there are technical issues with getting it up on his site.

When there are updates to the Community Project .exe file do you recommend we update our .dczip file and post a new one at the Scenario Bank each time?

After someone downloads a scenario, do they unzip it in their Barbarossa directory and play it from the Barbarossa scenario screen?

I have been designing scenarios for TAOW for over 15 years but now I can't figure out how to post my new designs. Any help would be appreciated.

Elaborate. Posting them here ain't a problem, just attach it as a .ZIP file here, or provide a Dropbox etc link, or go to Vic's website and upload it. https://www.vrdesigns.net/?page_id=1346
