Can someone provide a link to the Twitch stream mentioned in the first post, scheduled for later today? Somehow I'm not finding it, nor is Google...

Man! I wait almost 5 years for an event like this (livestream reveal) and wouldn't you know it... I won't be by the computer to see it live! Grrr! (Stupid life stuff! [;)]) I'll have to check out the VOD tonight when I get back.

I'm assuming we'll see a summary posted here in the forums as well?

It was a wonderful sneak peak. A nice info drop about "The same, but bigger and better". And the 2020 release target was a nice info drop as well.

Now just give me some better "automated diplomacy" support...

Just watching the stream. Some brilliant screen shots. Larger Galaxy, 3D ships, brilliant ship design menu........ I am sure Erik will post screen shots soon.

It all sounded very positive so far. [:)]

I know the UI is still in works, but simply colour coding internal ship components on the design screen is a simple and effective cue. Same goes for the energy usage chart, very helpful.

Haven’t been able to look yet, but: even... larger... galaxy?! Wow and in 3D?! Wow^2!
I am going to need to find a quiet spot to watch the video soon!

I love what I see so far. I would also like some eye candy with the 3D. Like a resort base just outside of a black hole's burning event horizon. Hopefully, the event horizon could have movement.

From the other (ship-related) thread :

Hi all

Long time, no speak ;) Glad you like what you've seen so far of DW2.

Thought I'd just add some more points about 64-bit: while the default build will be 64-bit, we'll probably also include a 32-bit version. Memory usage is much-improved over DW1, so 32-bit can actually handle most situations ok. It's just the really big galaxies where 64-bit works better. But if you only have 32-bit Windows, you'll still be able to play DW2.
Will you support Linux / Windows 7 / Mac ?
