Troop Transporter AI

Post by Dampfnudel »

I have questions for the Troop Transporter AI.

I have an automated fleet with troop transporters. After an invasion they let the troops sit on the planet and returned to their base.
The issue is now, that the troops still sit on the planet, and the fleet has no troops to make further invasions. Without manual control, no further invasions can happen. This makes it impossible to play with fleet stances without manual control.
Am I missing something?

The other question is how independent troop transporters behave. What are they doing generally?
Can they move troops between planets automatically? Can they start invasions? Can they aid invasions?

If you order the AI to make an invasion surely they will collect the troops to do it
Including perhaps the troops on the planet just invaded
At least I think so - I dont use automation but I think the AI is able to collect troops as needed
Maybe others who use automation may have more to say
Maybe test it - order the fleet to make an invasion and see what happens?

Once the planet is captured change the home base to the new planet. After loading troops change it back. Other than that manual control.

If you remove the troops from a planet you've just invaded, there's a good chance the planet will revolt. You need to leave a garrison there for a while until they become accustomed to your benevolent rule.
