Troop Transport

Post by Chris21wen »

The load size of for any infantry/Spec force is 100.

The first troop transport module capacity is 100 so everything fits. With each successive research increase this cap goes up by 25. The problem is this space is wasted as you can't load part of a troop unit unless the part adds up to a round 100. Doing the maths 4x100=400 gives you 4 inf, 4x125=500 loads 5 but 3x125=375 only allows 4 inf. So! what's the point of the research increment of 25 or am I missing something?

I believe it's for a gradual slope instead of a huge increase like 100, 200, 300 etc... It's not perfect.

But, all values can be changed in the Components and Research text files so you can modify them how you want.

For every 4 modules each research increment lets me load one extra troop
So it makes sense - to me at least - to think of it in that way spread over over multiple modules

Presumably your construction tech is also increasing so you can also add more modules
which also amplifies the carrying capacity beyond the starting 100
So the increments accumulate by tech advances and when spread out over multiple modules

Also some of the other ground force units have different sizes - I dont recall exactly what they are
But if you are sending a mixed force that might also be relevant
Overall as techs increase I juggle all the components & elements to get the best outcomes I can
In fact that is one of the creative micromanagement aspects I like about the game

Thanks guys. But I think I was getting slightly confused by the different ways of loading troops. I.e. units for ships, percentages for fleets. Not the best way of doing thing but sorted it out now in my head.

the more modules you add, the more troops you can load
