Multiple bases being built at one location

I seem to have an AI bug where when I allow the AI to build and expand on their own (and sometimes even when I turn off that automation) they seem to want to build 7-8 of the same type of base at the same planet/asteroid. It drains all my resources and distracts all my construction ships.

Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to avoid it occurring?? Thanks.

never happened to me, but I played with Building Ships in auto-mode only in the first play sessions of my very first Distant Worlds Universe game - from them onward I always directed (with a lot of macro-micro-management indeed) in person all my building ships, the core in my opinion of the whole economic system of DWU.
