RB's Armed Merchants Mod

Tired of having your freighters flee in the face of a single pirate? Don't have time to respond to every one of those "x is under attack" messages? Well, now you won't have to. Now your civilian ships can take care of themselves.

Roger Bacon's Armed Merchants Mod does the following:
-- increases the max # of weapons on civilian ships from 1 to 10
-- Allows any "flee" setting instead of just "enemy sighted"

Anyone have trouble with the game crashing on this... NOT THIS PERSON's mod, but in general.
I armed freighters and construction ships some time back and the game choked.

Did they fix this.

This is for version 1.7.0.7. I don't know if it will work with other version or not. Let me know if it works with your version.
I use it and have armed merchant ships with no problem. It is very satisfying to ge a message "so and so is under attack by a pirate" and jump there to see the priate gettign its ass kicked.

OR at least at bare minimum, the ship holds out long enough for help to arrive.

The freighters are getting aggrssive. This one is actively hunting a pirate ship. I wonder if he's looking for a bounty. :)

Yep. The AI still has sole control over all private ships.

Haha, that's pretty cool!

I might try this mod, I often get a bit stretched trying to escort all trade routes.
I've been beta testing myself for decades.
