First part of the mod is complete with the images of 3712 Star Wars races to choose from for this mod.
Keep in mind each star system will have a number of leaders, ambassadors, colony governors, scientists, fleet admirals, troop generals, intelligence agents, pirate leaders and ship captains... all of them needing character images.
Now assuming I have 10 images for each of the 9 groups above, this means 90 characters per system.
So if I have 3712 images, this means 42 star systems have life on their planets.
Considering these races will expand across the map, 42 is probably right.
Oh wait...... according to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything is 42......
So 3712 Star Wars races is ideal.
However, as races expand across the map, do their population numbers increase meaning more images required?
This week all ruins will be removed from the game. The ruins will be replaced by intelligence reports from Bothan spies for example who are keeping an eye on where the Empire is in relation to your galaxy and will provide you much needed intel on the status of the map.
If you receive reports that the Empire has taken over a system nearby this gives you the option to run strategic hits on the Imperial fleets and drive them out of that system.
Reports may also let you know the presence of nearby hostile races in nearby systems. This gives you the chance of sending ambassadors to that system to improve relations with them.
You may also have a need for establishing new trade with other systems if you are looking for much needed food or weapons.
Knowing where your friends and your enemies are by using intelligence reports from your spies will greatly change the way you play this mod.
Work is progressing daily on this mod...... currently working on creating the star systems file which of course is what you see in the map in the game.
I was searching for a highly detailed map containing every system seen or mentioned in the Star Wars universe and showing where in the galaxy that system is placed.
So I have found one map which includes systems so far not mentioned in other maps..... so I verify whether that newly mentioned star system is valid and it is indeed mentioned in Wookipedia.
The reason I am working on the list of Star Systems is because I am also adding daily even more images of new races seen on the millions of worlds seen in the Star Wars universe. So far each of these races are identified only as a 49 digit number and I will need to somehow give them a race name.
So far added a lot of new systems that were on the map and have almost completed the northern part of the Deep Core, of the Core Worlds, of the Inner Rim and from the Expansion Region.... illustrated with a red dot in the map below when processed on my spreadsheet which will be used the create the text file used by the mod.
The last 24 hours had an additional 48 systems added that were not in my original source documents.
I am slowly deconstructing the research tree from the standard research items and once this is finished I will begin adding in the research tree more in tune with the Star Wars Universe.
Development of the mod is going well and so far I have 4025 Star Wars races with portraits that can be added to the mod.
Still working on how to name these characters...... For example there could be a hundred different species in the Tatooine system alone. Jawas, Tusken Raiders and humans are native to the planet but what about all the others? The others are in a group who either work there or are visitors but are not native to the planet.
Still looking at a way to randomly add these races in when you arrive in a system but not sure if that is going to be possible.
