Welcome to One Ship Challenge, a Bacon scenario set in the Retreat+Bacon+Chrome mod. This scenario requires version 1.79 (or later) of the Bacon mod. If you already have the Retreat+Bacon+Chrome mod installed just copy over the exe from Bacon mod 1.79 (or later).

Installation: If you have never installed a scenario before you must create a maps folder under the retreatUEBacon folder. Place the .dwg file in there.

BaconSettings.txt: Your BaconSettings.txt will override the settings used in making this scenario. You are free to use any settings you like but the following are strongly recommended.

HyperJumpThreshhold=6000

BaseHyperJumpAccuracy=1500

useStarGravityWells=true // without gravity wells customizing your ship is totally unbalanced.

componentEquipCost=1000

tradeTax=0.1

addSalesTax=false

TroopGarrisonMinimumPerColony=40 // it’s really important that the indies don’t get taken by empires too early.

Scenario Description: You are a crew of entrepreneurs with a pretty good freighter and some working capital. Can you turn it into a fortune or will you die in the cold vastness of space? Technically you have an asteroid colony with 10 accountants there but they won’t do anything (except keep the “you lose” screen from popping up). You can store spare resources at your asteroid base and you can refit your ship there but don’t bother trying to build anything there.

Your ship: “Last Hope” is a Super Hauler freighter modified by your crew with a few special features. One feature is a super-fast hyperdrive that no one else in the galaxy has. It will let the Last Hope travel nearly ten times faster than any other ship.

Your Crew: "The Captain” (you) has inspiring presence. Over time you can expect all your crew members to get their skills up to around 100. Inspiring presence is truly the most powerful train in the game. You can recruit more crew members at any independent colony with the alt + ctrl + right click menu.

Essential commands to know:

Alt + ctrl + right click menu to open the trade menu when near a trade partner.

Alt- r to reveal yourself as a pirate, which allows you to attack independent worlds and ships. After some time and leaving the system, your status will be reset as an independent

!price [resource] will give you the price of that resource at nearby colonies.

Important Notes:

If you lose your ship you should consider the game over. It contains essential scenario variables and the scenario will not function as expected without it. Even if you establish an entire empire with a fleet of ships, park your starting ship somewhere safe.

For the first year or so, market prices are being seeded so you will not be able to make a profit by buying and selling. Use that time to explore (or raid).

Scenario settings:

400 stars, 12 empires, lots of strong pirates that do not respawn. Lots of independent colonies.

Another tip if you plan to expand past your starting ship. Once you have 90% control over an independent world you can commission ships to be built there (construction ships and freighters) with the alt- ctrl- right click menu. Or you can just acquire ships the old fashioned way by boarding them.

What scenario variables would I need to attach to the ship/station to make a new custom scenario that does this with DWUR?
