We have not tested in xp, but will ask the Ageod team. I just can say you that the game is not very heavy and runs very fast in W7.

Is this game built with a new engine? I've heard Ageod was working on one. I hope so.

How would you say the performance is compared to TYW? About the same?

From the few videos released it does seem like the turns are very quick at least, though my issue with Ageod games is usually more with map/UI performance.

The map is smaller in ECW so it is faster. That's my feeling. But both are fast.

I don't think it will work on Windows XP to be honest

I have been testing it on XP with no problems.
Baldbrother has also confirmed that it plays on XP.

My experience with XP has been that it can often run things that other programs can't. 64 bit Windows 7 Professional is almost as good in terms of forward and backwards compatibility. I'd be really shocked to hear that this program doesn't run on XP. Microsoft has produced a lot of questionable programs that have trouble running things, but Windows XP wasn't one of them.

It plays ok on my xp system especially after making an adjustment - as per AGEOD forum - to the scrolling speed. The product specs say Windows 7/8/10 but the manual also includes XP. I have had an error message twice but it went away before I could quite read it. Something to do with logging on as an administrator which I am.

As for now all my Ageod's games play well on XP. To be honest, they play well on Win7 also, but that's another story.

I've tried ECW without problems on XP yesterday.

There is no such thing as a historically accurate strategy game. Every game stops being historically accurate from the very first move player do. First unit that moves ahistorically, first battle with non-historical results, mean we ride in unknown.
