Given the prior lack of games about the English Civil War Matrix have now provided this at the strategic level and Pike and Shot for those who like the tactical.

That it took a Spaniard (Leibst) to make this game is embarrassing but the Brits are sadly incapable these days. Leibst is also the author of Thirty Years War, and Espana - about the Spanish Civil War.


I've played the Naseby scenario four times now and the game has been stable and enjoyable, especially for a Brit, being able to move armies around on home territory.

Give it a go, or if you want to put your foot in the water with the Ageod system without spending any money at all try their game about the Russian Revolution which has a free demo version. It is called "Revolution Under Siege" or RUS.
