Cavalry Withdrawal

Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents Ancient and Medieval combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield. This forum also supports the Rise of Rome, Storm of Arrows and Immortal Fire expansions to Field of Glory.

Cavalry Withdrawal

Post by tmoj2000 »

Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it does not happen at all and they get killed....

What are the key factors in getting them to withdraw ?

Cavalry will always break off after a round of melee in which infantry opponents are undisrupted. Sometimes they are blocked and cannot break off.

what if opponents include both infantry and cavalry ? chariots ?
recently played Metaurus and my carthaginian cavalry (including leaders) never broke off (nor did they attempt to), prefering to get killed instead
