Question, playing the original FG I noted the lack of reconnaissance spotting coming from Cav Scout units (eyes and ears)along with the ease they were spotted . Another question I have is there a option to dismounted reconnaissance patrols ?

I am not sure what question #1 is. You made an observation.

You can not separate dismounts from carriers and move them independently.

Thanks, my question was/has anything changed in the way the engine handles scout units and their abilities to more reflect their value on the battlefield . Example their ability to spot and identify enemy units and movement ?

Sarge, recon units in Red Storm have the ability to "see" further and are harder to spot compared to other units in the game. Certain sensors like thermals and radar can of course change the spotting dynamic.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
