PLEASE (!!) port to ipad!

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

PLEASE (!!) port to ipad!

Post by Xenomorph »

So I bought the game last nite (Capn Darwin should get a commission check since he sold me on it) and I have one request above all others: please port to the ipad! Didn't I read that Battle Academy made massively more $ on the ipad than it ever did as a pc game? So there ya go. There's just something about the Ipad. My wife does NOT allow me to have my laptop out while I'm condemned to sit with her watching America Idol. But, somehow, with the ipad it goes from a felony to merely annoying. I can live with annoying. Anyway, from the boards and the awards it looks like you guys have really hit on something with this game. Congrats!! And thanks for a great game!

Here's a little secret. Put Splashtop Streamer on your pc and on your ipad and you can then stream FPC on your ipad and play.

We are glad you are enjoying the game. As for a port, we would need to do a ground up rebuild to mesh with ios. Sadly not a simple sideways port, but we do like the idea of a version for iPad. And a Mac build for Brant. [:D]

YES!!! Even though this works in Wineskin just fine I'd be all over both the iPad and Mac version. Make it happen, please?

Yes, I was thinking it'd be a total rebuild for the ipad. BUT it's looking like this game could be something of a game-changer as far as re-igniting interest in the hex wargame genre so I'm hoping that the powers that be will see it as a worthwhile investment. Hope spring eternal! Also, I've used splashtop. A brilliant app that I need to get more comfortable with. Have you tried it to see how it runs? I'd guess it'd run fine but I've been surprised before. Thanks again!

1. Yes, it is all about making Brant happy if we can. [:D]

2. Charles (cbelva) is one of the Devs too. I believe he has played it using the software. I should try it out too come to think of it.

Enjoy.

See my post above [:D]. I have not played it in a few months over Splashtop, but it played fairly well the last time I played. You have to get use to Splashtop's UI, but it interfaced with ours pretty well back then.
