Winning too easy against AI (boring).

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Winning too easy against AI (boring).

Last couple of scenarios not much of a challenge against AI. Is the AI a push over or what? I make sure to select the game that indicates which side to play: thin tan line, FOW on, etc, played Nato in "best played as Nato scenario" and there was no challenge at all. I just put my units in the town to protect the bridge and WP choked all the way through. Also in Bread and butter, walked all over WP. game is getting boring against AI

also as for options nothing was checked except C & E and both sides checked them off. I do not think the game was meant to be a push over.

The scenarios you are discussing are the Flashpoint Germany Reforged scenarios. Those were brought over pretty much as is so as to not lose the context of the originals. Some of those may play better than others.

Well there should be something in the description tag indicating AI is not competitive.

Try Titans from the US side. The issue with a couple of the Brit scenarios is the map with the single major river crossing. Best suggestion would be to play without taking that bridge out. Then the scenario become a fight.

The 2 senarios above could well be described as 'intro's', applying sound tactics as opposed to blunders
would be construed as 'shooting Rats in a Barrel'.
If you're only getting Marginal victories, try variations and aim for Decisives, or get stuck into the campaigns,
these are well constructed and you have to have unit preservation more so in the back of your mind to carry you into the next round.

Better still start playing online PBEM (something I ought to be doing) Human opponents are a totally different kettle of fish.

WP pact was decisively destroyed without much in planning. Nato merely moved troupes into the town, blew the bridge and held. Then a second wave of Brits came and mopped up. Boring...

I don't see the problem, try a different scenario?

well the issue is how does one know which scenarios are going to be push-overs.

The basic issue is you don't. The AI is dynamic and does not play the same way twice. We are looking at making a few adjustments to the map in question to fix the single point cut off.

If you do not enjoy the AI, you can also play head-to-head modes against yourself, or someone else in your household. You can also try PBEM.

head to head against myself? excuse the comparison that that must be less gratifying than masturbation... I mean, would anyone play chess against themselves? Seriously, in some of the scenarios I have played I have come to realize that the AI is rather disappointing. Okay so I will not blow up the bridge. Oh well...

I'm going to play Bread and Butter tonight and see if I can be bored by a big win too. Lately I've had to be satisfied with marginal losses and a few hard-fought draws. A boring easy win would be a nice change...

The specific scenarios called out are not push-overs...they play decent enough and are fair representations of what was in the original game.
