So thanks for your help so far, It's gotten me this far, but now I'm totally lost!
I do draw all my map elements manually on top of satellite views.

As shape files? Do you do one shapefile for roads, one for a rivers, Do you have a template for them?

If I may there seem to be about 3 or 4 (or so) guys who would be using QGIS if they had a tutorial and could follow along. I'm trying but if there were a tutorial you would have a force multiplier and maybe some guys who could help with maps for Southern Storm.

Al

Yes, I draw the map elements as separate shape files, and have separate styles for them.

After drawing, there is a complicated step to set-up a print manager with the right settings and coordinates so it spits outs a bitmap at the right scale, and with the QGis hex grid matching the FCRS expected hex grid.
I'll be writing a brief manual to cover this all this week, and run it by you, Harry, exsonic01 and whomever else shows up in these posts.

William

That would be great~! Thank you so much~!

So I decided there is too much about the map making process I don't know. So I'm going to create (am already) an old style map of Kassel and will do a city fight scenario for the DDR mod done by Stimpak (????). Sorry I'm on my phone with limited time I hope I got the DDR Mod author correct.

William,

Thanks a manual would be so awesome. [&o]

I'm going to load the old style map in to the game I produced to practice scanning it in but not going to produce a scenario for it. It just looks to plain compared to the new maps.

Beirut at 250m/hex For some reason I'm drawn to the city! [:@]
Actually I wanted to practice creating a QML Color ramp. The 100-400 meter elevations are in the FPRS color scale. The roads are ESRI Roads.
