patch?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

patch?

Post by bigduke6 »

Hi All
Newbie here, I see on the future patches ideas there have been quite a few listed but none have been taken up? Is the game no longer supported so will modders have to improve the game and fix issues. I feel alot of the sugestions are very valid and cant see why they were not incorporated in the game straight away or would they have proved too difficult to do being a copyied set of games? I also see alot of tech support questions with stuff not working(nothing like sh5 lol) is that me being paranoid or is the game playable with no issues as it stands. Do the patches fix the issues and are more patches/improvements due? Many thanks

Hi BD,

There is still work in the next patch under way as I understand it. The game is definately still supported, but also it is a very small team, (I think just Hard Sarge and Harley) and I think Harley is doing 100% of the coding, so it is a lot of work for him.

There was a patch released pretty early on that fixed several issues and the next one in the works is apparently a pretty major one, so it will take a while.

As it stands I find the game quite playable with relatively few bugs, and none that I would consider game breaking. In my opinion the two biggest issues would be the alert times of airbases in Romania and some areas of France and Germany and the "Turn Back" bug.
I have not played as the Axis yet in BTR, but check the relevant threads in the Tech support forum regarding the Axis alert times.

As for the "Turn - Back" bug I've probably had that happen 3 times in 100 odd turns of play (and never to more than one raid in any of those three instances). Some people report it happening very frequently, I only tend to see it when I have been really "creative" with the waypoints, if you follow the same route in and out that seems to help.

Hey Guys [8D]

I am not really looking for a patch any time soon. Since the release of the Matrix version and their patch soon afterwards my observations agree with Dobey's. The problems that really frustrated me for years are gone. I pretty much focus on the Allies in BTR so I am new to the Axis issues. But for me the Turn Back to the last waypoint and then continue on bug is not that big an issue for me. Seeing that happen a few times over several months of game doesnt really bother me. Besides I am well under way into a few campaigns since the last patch and in no hurry to start over.

Just my thoughts.

Later,
KayBay [8D]

Any chance for a beta?
Especially now that Matrix has its Holiday sales running it would be a good way to show that work is still being done on the game.
