Were German BOB raids planned as individual actions or part of a larger plan?

I ask since, I had intended some terror bombing to bring up the fighters; and then a sweep over their airfields as they were landing.

The bombing got cancelled due to weather, but the sweep went ahead. Ideally, I would have said that mission was contingent on the bombing raids at least launching. Didn't they have telephones or radios at the LW airfields?

Oh, well ...

Nothing unusual about that. The war is littered with stories about the right hand not telling the left hand what it was doing or not doing as the case may be.

I think Eagle day started exactly like that. Most of the Bomb missions being cancelled except for one Geschwader of Do17 that had got airborne and then could not even communicate with the escorts that did meet with them.
