Much more eloquent AI please.

In my very first BoB game vs German AI I won immediately because the Germans could not achieve AS level to extend the game past the first Victory check point. I barely knew what I was doing having only glossed over the manual.

Considering the very narrow scope of the campaign, the AI should be far superior than what was shipped with original.

Now now - we shouldn't be dismissing ideas out of hand straight away. Why don't we want an AI that can dish out abuse as it plays 'ha, got you, you thought that was going for Biggen Hill, didn't you'...[:D]

Mind you, a more imaginative and competent AI would be good as well!

I am not sure how much we can do to the AI, I am not the programmer and (have read some of the basics to AI) don't know how we could improve it

but one thing I have always complained about, in a game like BoB or BTR is that the AI can pick and chose what to attack/defend, and most times the (if you are the attacker) if your raid comes in unattacked, it will pretty much still miss or do little damage

maybe we can add some kind of "bonus" to the attack/bomb rolls, if the raid is not attacked before it reaches the target, there by helping the odds of the raid doing damage, based on the fact that the bombers have time to AIM

(in 1941, in PI, they tell about how the JP formations, would fly back and forth over the target until they had everything just right, no Allied fighter cover and the bombers were higher then the Flak could reach)

which Ron, not sure of your play style, you may of just did a better job of not losing your planes, picking your targets better, the player, tends to pile on, while the AI does not

the one I hate, as the GE in BoB, the GB will just pull out of range and not intercept me, he keeps his numbers high, and I lose as many planes trying to land back at base, as I shot down in combat

best I can offer is to ask questions of the programmers and see what we can try to make the AI better

Should I have said more refined, more capable, an AI with more finesse? You know what I meant. The old release has little or no replay value because it was a pure script. We could use something which actually interacted on/with certain variables as they occur during the course of the games scripted timeline.
