Sqdns vs Groups in the USAAF

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Sqdns vs Groups in the USAAF

Post by The Dude »

Is there a particular reason why the XV FC is divided into sqdns and VIII FC is in groups. It seems strange to me for the fact that during the war the group was the basic unit in the ETO.

Any thoughts?

Most likely if the Med units were grouped it would limit your escort capabiltiy. Bust them into squadrons gives you great flexiblity. Also all the German air force is in and around Germany, there's not much in the Med, so squadrons will do. But ramrods to Germany from the Med will take all your 15AF squadrons or your gong to lose heavies. Basically a playability issue.
