No casualty from bombardment and fighter sweep

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

No casualty from bombardment and fighter sweep

Post by Mappo »

Hi all, in my new campaign as Ally (ver 1.6.22), after 15 turns I noticed that both my fighter sweeps and bombardments cause neither KIA nor WIA to the Axis pilots. To date I have destroyed 118 aircraft and damaged 205 on ground, but not a single wounded/killed pilot. In my last campaign as Axis (ver 1.04) Allied air strikes always killed and wounded many of my pilots. Has anything been changed in the air raid mechanism?
Another little note: I have the impression that the program does not take into account the losses suffered by the recons and the night fighters. Until now I have lost one Mosquito NF XII and one Beaufighter, but the number of planes available in the pool has not changed, the same thing for the recons that I have lost
Best regards.

The Axis pilots no longer sit in their planes waiting to be bombed, they take cover in shelters away from the runway.

My axis campaign is now at 11 Dec 43 and I can't remember seeing any pilot loss on the ground so far. The most annoying when an airfield is bombed is high service damage, because it takes forever to be repaired.

The easiest way to negate high service damage is to move to another field. You normally have plenty of spare fields. Always try to have a back up with plenty of LAA for each operational one. Also if you keep moving a stab unit around you will ensure fuel stocks are already present at those spare fields.

I don't want to move around the Stabs if I can avoid it. My Stab units have some of the best pilots (8 of my 10 best top pilot is Stab pilots), they are needed to kill stragglers and take out recons. They are also good at hitting small packs of returning US escorts.

I instead move some of the low experienced Romainian and Bulgarian staffels around the airfields to ensure fuel supply.
