Some weird stuff with v1.06.57

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Some weird stuff with v1.06.57

Post by RichardL58 »

Returning to the game after a year and restarted as axis with the new patch (v1.06.57) I noticed a few strange things:

When allied bombers bombing through cloud cover and the lead bomber miss, all the following bombers always hit the target spot on.

Night interceptions are more rare than before, and when they do happend you kill only one out of 10 to 15 of the intercepted bombers, the rest only get damaged.

The night figthers gets a lot of "detections" with the SN-2 but almost never any intercepts.

Hi Richard.
Yep, you're right on all accounts.
I have noticed these and made my views known to Simovitch.
The night combat has been revised considerably especially in electronic warfare and it will seem a lot different but Allied bombers are also not as accurate in hitting their targets.
I have noticed that although the bombers are reporting hitting the target through the clouds, very rarely does this transmit to damage on the ground. I am still seeing 'open ground' hit through cloud occasionally.
Mark.

Is the axis ground radar equipment also updating over time, to encounter "Windows" and the SN-2 jamming?

No, it isn't. I would welcome some research on that because I did a brief search for the next patch and didn't see anything significant in the way of an effective countermeasures. Also, the axis ground radar seems overly simplified in the game with just the 2 types, but models the overall situation well I think.

There is a third type included on the map. I have noticed that both Leuwarden and Westerland airfields have the See Elefant radar (a longer lange Mammut), but they dont,t seems to have any funtion in the game.
