Somehow, I missed taking screenshots for Turns 26–27.
It’s a bit tiresome to capture screenshots and hope the game doesn’t crash. I might have skipped it for that reason.

Turn 28

Planning
A follow-up to the raids on Birmingham power plants and an attempt to capture some reconnaissance photos from Liverpool.

Briefing
Not that impressive.

You can find out what your current pool of replacement pilots is for any nationality by selecting any unit and selecting the "pilots" display. At the bottom you will see the nationality of the unit and the current pilot pool.

I don't have access to the database or code right now so I'm not sure what the replacement rate is for each nationality. I'll post that when I can.

Turn 29
Way better than expected—especially hitting the Oil target, which makes me really happy!

Turn 30 Update

Planning:
Fine weather today. I’ll try my luck with long-range Bomber raids targeting power plants.

Image

Briefing:
I hit a little of everything, but the long-range raids were a disappointment. Even with 40-80 escorted Bombers, they only managed to scratch the target (15 damage at best).

Image

Losses:
I’m not sure what went wrong. The RAF must have executed excellent interceptions against my long-range raids. I barely hit any targets and lost 16 JU88s in the process! While I do have some in stock, I can’t afford such heavy losses just to try hitting four power plants.

Turn 31 Update

Planning:
One downside of the game is the endless number of clicks required to do anything—even with the upgraded interface.

I’ve noticed that I tend to autoplan recon flights, create large Bomber raids on the London rail system, and neglect proper setup for fighter sweeps. It’s a bit frustrating, and it shows in the results.

I think I need to play fewer turns in one sitting and take more time to plan properly when I do get the chance to play.

Briefing:
Two raids targeting London’s rail system today.

Image

Losses:
Nothing unexpected.

I did notice, however, that I had far more sorties today compared to the RAF. Hopefully, this indicates that the RAF is starting to wear out, while the Luftwaffe remains strong!

Turn 32 Update

Briefing:
Yay! A night raid successfully hit a small airfield. The highlight of today’s operations, though, is the big hit on Vauxhall Motors—a Capacity 6 factory! :)

Turn 33-34 Update

Massive cloud cover (50%+), so the pilots are taking the day off.

It feels like a bit of an anti-climax. My original plan for this phase of the game was to hit Liverpool hard during the second full moon. This was supposed to be the decisive blow...

But alas, it’s all canceled. :(

Turn 35 Update

Briefing:
I managed to score a decent hit on a chemical factory in Liverpool.

Other than that, there’s not much to write home about.

Turn 36 Update

Planning:
I’m getting so tired of all the clicking involved in planning missions, so I made it an easy day for myself: ONE raid and some recon.

Briefing:
Looks like sending 164 Bombers was a bit of overkill for this mission.

Turn 38-39 Update

This is the moment where I need to go all-in to achieve victory through air superiority.

Unfortunately, the weather is making things difficult—it’s completely unsuitable for Bomber raids.

I don’t want to throw all my Bombers into a desperate attempt to win the game early. If it fails, I’ll suffer unnecessary losses, and fatigue levels for everyone will skyrocket.

No activities planned for Turn 38-39.

Turn 40 Update

Planning:
Only 5% cloud cover today! :)
Perfect conditions to plan raids on several important inland targets.

Briefing:
What a great feeling to be back in action!
A couple of successful raids against key targets have definitely lifted morale.

Have you tried autoplanning just a single raid? Keeping in mind where your HQ area of operations is, you just select the target and click "done". You can modify anything if you want but if not the AI will do it for you. If the planes are available the AI will structure a pretty good raid for you most of the time, even with escort coverage.

Turn 41-42
For these two turns, there was low-lying cloud cover, so I decided to focus on sweeping and flying reconnaissance missions to better prepare for future turns.

Turn 43

So, the action begins.
I’m still lacking a plan for the rest of the game, so I’ll continue to monitor the primary airfields and bomb and sweep those that are staffed.

Briefing
That was a bad turn for the Luftwaffe. I don’t know how a single raid could lose 20 bombers.
I have a clear advantage in fighter numbers, so I don’t exactly lack escorts for my bombers.

Note that you don't get AS points for damaging Bomber Command and Coastal Command airbases. These are the bases marked with an asterisk *. However, the RAF knows this as well and may try to base aircraft there to fool the LW so you might get lucky!

Hi.
You have not put up a screenshot of your points tally or to win points. This would be interesting for comparison.
Also losing 20 bombers in a raid probably meant the RAF made a conscious decision to target this raid above all others (see parallels in LW strategy late '44 onwards).
Personally I also think your numbers of fighter escorts for level bombing raids are too low. Just my opinion.
Mark.
