Hello Devs & Testers!

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Nice video ... but the heavy metal music a tad hard to take. Something more traditional would have been better. Like the music that was used for the TV doc The Unknown War, narrated by Burt Lancaster. Oh, the Aberdeen proving ground clip threw me. Shows a Panther climbing a grade but ther was an M-3 Lee in the background.

That was a great Video!

But now I don't think I'll buy the game.

There's no way to win against the Soviet attack :(

Razz that one side nearly always losses is a normal thing in war, esp wargames. WitP AE is a great example for the Japanese side - they will nearly always lose the games.

I've just been beaten by the German side in a PBEM. Von Jäger played great and used every mistake I made. Which is the right tactic? where to defend when to attack? So many questions crop up whilst playing. And the AI is challenging to say the most.

But what makes a good game? Being able to win no matter what? Being able to play for hours on end, hoping you're making the right decissions? Historicly correct games are balanced in such a way that sooner or later the tide will turn. Can you win beforehand or hold out long enough?

Try to play as the Soviets against a good German player you'll be counting the days for the winter to come, believe me.

Of course the decission to buy or not lays in your hands, but please don't miss out on this great game.
Fun to play, hard to learn - but well worth every min spent playing.
