HQ buildup?

Post by Captain »

I have another problem I can't figure out. I wanted to use the HQ buildup feature with my German Panzergruppe corps HQ units. I leave them motionless for the whole turn, as required, but when I check at the end of the turn or the beginning of the other turn on the unit detail screen, I do not see a "HQ buildup" button as shown in the manual.

This is in july 41, they can trace a supply line back and are not too far from the railhead. Is there something I am missing?

Click on the "Supply Details" for the HQ Unit. It is found right under the "Supply/Need; Fuel/Need; Ammo/Need; Support/Need graphic. Once you are in the Supply Details, check both the "Hex to Rail" and "MP to Rail" Fields. You have to be within 20 Movement Points of the railhead to be able to do the HQ Buildup.

Sometimes I will move my HQ unit back just a few hexes to get it within 20 MP...then on the next turn you can use the HQ buildup.

There is no problem too big that can't be solved with the proper use of high explosives

Also, I think there was a bug in the earlier versions where it was 19 MP's, not 20. They have fixed that in the latest version (1.04.39).

thanks Captain B, that would explain it, the HQs are around 40+ MPs from the railhead.

the 20 mp rule does not appear to be in the manual.

It's a recently introduced rule so wouldn't show in the original manual
