Recruiting Beta Testers for War in the East II

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Recruiting Beta Testers for War in the East II

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hi everyone,

If you have a lot of free time and are looking for something to do, why not join our expanding beta test team for the upcoming Gary Grigsby's War in the East II? We're looking to add a large number of testers over the next week to help us put the new game and scenarios through their paces.

In addition to getting a personal look at the beta stage of the game, if you are an active and helpful tester you may qualify for a discount or even a free copy at release.

If you're interested, please complete the NDA application here:

The form says my forum login credentials are not valid for some reason, which is surprising considering I am logged in while filling out the form.

Anyone else have this issue? I'd hate to miss out on a chance to help with the beta test...

Yes many of the existing testers had this problem if they tried to join after the last website upgrade. Something to do with the merging up with slitherine and problems if you joined matrix before then. There was a way round it for many after a lot of work arounds. Not sure if it is the same problem but at least was not unusual before.

Hmm, I went through the website merge, and tried changing my password, no dice. I have been on this forum a long-ass time, so that might just be it.

Can I apply via PM to somebody instead?

I think you have to go through the online system. I'm not up on the login issues, but you could try registering a new account with a slightly different name and see if that works.

If I am already registered from some years back how do I get involved?

Ok, after registering with a new account (I feel like that wily old Mr. Snrub), I have successfully tendered my application.

Now watch, they'll go and turn me down! [:D]

Thanks for the help, Joel, and good luck!

What do you mean that you were registered years back? Registered as a WitE2 tester, or registered with Matrix?

Most likely as a forum user. I also can’t access the beta test, although there is an account. It gives an error that you need to register for a new one registration. This error appeared after the merger of the matrix and slitherine.
As a result, I was able to register for a beta test only with a new registration.
Sorry for my english

It seems like some of you are having issues with the unified login system? I've asked our admin to check into this tomorrow, but as long as you sign up with a valid forum account linked to a unified login it should work fine. A unified login is something we implemented years ago and is required for many of our services, so I'm surprised you haven't done it already unless the only thing you use is this forum.

Registered as a WiTE2 tester, as the registration process remembers me. (Back in 17/18 I started checking OOB and reporting anomalies to Trey but a change in personal circumstances quickly precluded that activity). Do I just connect as I did back then or is there a different process for beta testers?

cheers

I was under the impression that my account WAS linked to a unified login, but that seems to be not the case as I get the same error as many others.

Hi folks,

I just got off a call with our web admins and devs. They are investigating all the account issues in this thread.

If you had any problems applying for the beta, please contact support@matrixgames.com and reference this thread and let them know you would like your account/login/beta application issue to be investigated. They'll forward the information to our admins for investigation.

If you were already able to apply successfully, we should have the first wave added in next week.

If you are still unable to apply, as soon as we have those issues resolved I'll post here again with the all clear so that you can try again.

Regards,

- Erik

I have contacted the users having problems to join this beta, so check your PM inbox [;)]

If any other is suffering the same problem, please send a PM or an email to:
fernandoturi AT slitherine DOT co DOT uk

This way we can see in detail what is going on and fix it so you do not have to suffer it again in the next beta or have multiple accounts to deal with...

Thanks!

Is there a certain date that if you haven't heard anything back you can assume you weren's selected as beta-tester?

Matrix is just finalizing the list now. I expect the new testers will get their serial numbers within the next day or two.

any chance i can get in still? i'm hitting the same forum issue, happy to PM somebody my dxdiag file. reasons i'd be a good tester:

(1) quarantine
(2) i just read the entire series of Robert Citino's books on wehraboos
(3) i'm committing to thoroughly playtesting and trying to break one, smaller, scenario

This wave of testers has already been added. What forum issue are you getting? Are you not able to enter your info at the website? See post 15 in case that's the issue.
