Interdiction?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

Interdiction?

Post by CapAndGown »

Does the system decide that certain hexes will be interdicted and then every unit that enters that hex gets interdicted? It sure seems like it. I just had several interdictions on multiple units, all passing through the same hex.

one way to avoid interdiction is moving one or a few hexes at a time. Interdiction is more likely to trigger the more hexes moved, but my understanding is its calculated by hexes moved per click.

So if you take it slow and move 1 hex at a time it actually reduces the chances of interdiction....from playing the game this seems to be true and my understanding of how the calculations under the hood work as well....just makes you waste alot more time clicking to move hex by hex.

x.

It's against a unit and not a hex but there can be any number of attacks made in a hex dependent upon how many units move through it. Interdiction is triggered by DL.

If this is true it is a bug. Moving one hex at a time ten times should have the same interdiction probability as moving ten hexes one time. That shouldn't be too hard to program.

That being said, I move at-risk units in small increments just in case they lose MP's due to interdiction. If that happens they might need to change direction and go to a different destination.
