Fortifications

Playing under last beta. I am sieging odessa but fort 4 does not decay even heavy arti and pionners. What must I do?

Are you attacking with Germans or Romanians?

South with romaníans and Leningrad german . So Booth advices are welcome

My opponent took the city in two turns.
First attack featured 15(!) pioneer battalions.
Second attack has 19(!) pioneer battalions (and assorted heavy artillery) and succeeded.

Romanians are almost useless. I currently play against an opponent who tries to capture Odessa with just Romanians. Every turn at least one attack. On T16 the fortifications are still above 3. He might capture the city on T17 but it has been quite an ordeal.

You have to use a German Corps with heavy/siege artillery. Assign pioneers directly to units.

Maybe post a screenshot so that we can see what you are using.
