How to play by e-mail?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

How to play by e-mail?

Post by mariandavid »

Hi - I am about to start (hopefully) a PBEM game of WitE for the first time and am confused. Now this is probably because I am very, very used to doing a PBEM for WitP and therefore baffled by the difference in approach. Lots of questions such as can it work if one side is on Steam and the other not but main question is - is there a summary (other than that in the manual which was utterly confusing on first read) anywhere that would help me.

One side can run it on Steam yes. You just press the next turn when you are done and a new save file will be created which you send (perhaps by email) to your opponent.

The Soviet player starts it by creating a PBEM Scenario with the required settings, saves it and then emails the save file to the AXIS opponent. The Axis then does there T1, end turn, save the file and emails it the Soviet player.

Thanks all - one other question. When it says 'settings' does this mean options (which makes sense) or is it also the preferences?
