air power in war in the east

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

air power in war in the east

Post by caliss39 »

Playing Barbarossa and ever time the Russians use their air power it does some damage to my units. Every time I use my air power it never does any damage to them. I even got all my planes on just one of Russias unit and no damage what so ever. What the story.

I suspect this is a spammer. He's asked the same exact worded question in 3 different threads and never responds to an answer.

Sorry, to mistake you for a spammer, but Telemecus did attempt to help you with no response. You really should consider posting a screenshot for him to analyze. He's pretty good at spotting issues if given enough information to work with. [:)]

Ok, I assume you are doing a manual ground attack? what squadrons are you using?

Again, a pic speaks a thousand words. Do you know how to create one?

I don't know why you need a screen shot. I'm I the only one with this problem of the Russian air power having damaged my units. When I use my airpower on a Russian unit there seems to be no effect on them. Its very frustrating. What could I be doing wrong. If I use my airpower against their air bases, that seems to work as they lose hundreds of planes.

Did you deliberately snip the screenshot so the Soviet losses can't be seen?

From what I can gather you attacked a city? hex with level bombers, not Stukas, and killed 50+ Soviets which is a good result....

Ah just seen it is attached to post 8. if possible could you show the other side that was cropped off. It will show for example what was the fort level. And also click on "details" so we can see further what happened. [:)]

This picture has no informational value. Next time try using your Ju-87 for a ground attack. It's not unusual to get 500+ kills if the unit is in the open and not fortified.

Well, it works for the rest of us. But if you can't post details we can't really help you.

To attack airbases, you need to be in "Bomb Airfield" mode (F7), not "Ground Bombing" (F6).

So that's the reason you didn't get any planes, you didn't bomb airfields but ground troops.

Image

If your aim was for ground troops, then Ajax already answered you, 50 men killed is a good result for bombing troops.
